How to Submit Your Books for Consignment
Are you a self-published local author interested in placing your books with Prairie Fox Books? Please read over the following guidelines before contacting us. Keep in mind that we may not be able to carry every book requesting a consignment position.
We prefer to give priority to authors whose books appeal to local interests and the Illinois Valley area, although we will give equal consideration to all books submitted. Selections will be made based on our booksellers’ personal experience with store inventory and how it will work with our current stock and sales history.
Consignment Application Process:
- Understand that we do not accept books through cold calls or drop-ins. Rather than do this, please send information to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail it to:
Prairie Fox Books
719 LaSalle Street
Ottawa IL 61350
Please provide your contact information with your initial inquiry, as this is how we will contact you with next steps if we are able to carry your book.
- We appreciate sample copies of your work, but please note that if we choose not to accept your book for consignment, we will donate or give it away; we are unable to return sample copies.
- If we accept your book for consignment, we will ask you to promote that your book is available for sale at Prairie Fox Books. This is possible through a variety of channels, including your website and other social media presence, contacting local media, and informing your family, friends, and other contacts.
Note that we reserve the right to refuse to accept your books for sale for any reason.
